Selection factors
In addition, the number of recessed spots and their position depends on various factors:- The function: Is it basic lighting, mood lighting, accent lighting or functional lighting? Each type of lighting makes different demands. For example, less accent lighting is required for the accent lighting, while for functional lighting you need to use spotlights with a high light output.
- The light output: Some recessed spots have a higher light output. Depending on the function, you determine the required light output.
- The beam angle: It indicates the extent to which a light beam is concentrated. The beam angle is always measured at the light source and not at the light. For example, a spot with a narrow beam angle is better suited for accent lighting, while spots with a large beam angle and consequently wide beam are better suited for basic lighting.
- The distance between the ceiling and the floor or another object to be illuminated.
