How to Clean a Patio Heater?

August 28, 2020 By Miranda Jackson Leave a Comment

Heated patio is considered a practical invention to provide a pleasant warmth in the colder seasons or on balmy summer nights when a mild breeze occurs. With the patio heater, outside areas can be ideally heated. Therefore, the patio heater provides the perfect basis for catering establishments, gardens, or as an extra for celebrations in the garden or other outdoor areas.

At some point, the day of cleaning the heater should come, because to ensure the longevity of the device, the respective components must be cleaned. Dirt or insects cause the elements of the patio heater not only look ugly but can also be impaired in their functionality.

Deposits from the environment

Especially in summer, there is the problem of flying mosquitoes and moths, which are attracted by the heat radiation of the heating patio. As a result, such and similar insects can remain as a deposit on the elements of the patio heater. In most cases, the outdoor patio is used in outdoor establishments of restaurants, bars, clubs, and pubs.

Here many smokers gather and use the warmth to stay. The nicotine of cigarettes can also settle on the heater and lead to unattractive deposits or yellowing. Therefore, it is recommended to clean the patio heater at least once a day superficially.

Before cleaning the patio heater, it should be disconnected from the power or gas cylinder and not turned on.

Cleaning with a damp cloth

The heated patio is best cleaned with a little soapy water warm water. It should be handled sparingly with the water; a damp cloth is usually sufficient to clean the individual components of the heating patio superficially. Mostly rain or dust and flying pollen can also deposit on the heater; these can be wiped off with a damp cloth.

It is essential to ensure that the heater does not come into contact with excess water, so it should not be sprayed with a garden hose, for example. Although the technical side of the heated patio allows cleaning with a damp cloth, too much influence of water should be avoided. The regular care of the heating patio offers high longevity. This is how the heater can be used effectively for many years.

These methods can be used to clean the patio heater

  • damp to a wet cloth
  • Microfasertuch
  • stainless steel polish
  • soapsuds
  • Rust protection for screws

Stainless steel polish and microfibre cloth

The patio leaves no deposits, such as Rus could settle. A patio heater can hardly rust; this is due to the production of stainless steel. Therefore, in addition to cleaning with a damp cloth, apply a stainless steel polish to provide the proper shine. Even without stainless steel polish, light impurities can be removed with a microfibre cloth.

The only components that could rust in case of doubt, in some models, the screws used. These can be polished with a rust inhibitor and are therefore protected against rust.
