How to Clean Gas Stove Burners with Baking Soda and Vinegar?

Baking soda and white vinegar are products that can be useful when cleaning and polishing certain areas of the home that tend to accumulate excess dirt.

The stove or stove is one of the elements in the kitchen that is most difficult for us to clean. Although we use it several times a day, sometimes we prefer to allow some time to pass before trying to remove these fat and food residues.

Today many degreasing products can facilitate this task. Now, when we do not have them on hand, we can opt for some homemade solutions.

1. Lemon juice

Many of the commercial degreasing products have lemon juice as their main active ingredient. This is because its natural acids act as astringent, thus facilitating the elimination of these residues.

Ingredients

  • The juice of 2 lemons.
  • 3 cups of water (750 ml).

Preparation

  • Extract the juice from the lemons and dilute it in three cups of hot water.

How to use

  • First, dip a sponge in the product and rub it on the surface of the stove.
  • Let it act for 2 minutes and, finally, remove the residue with a microfiber cloth.
  • Repeat the procedure until everything is flawless.

2. Apple cider vinegar

Due to its high concentration of organic acids, apple cider vinegar can be used alternatively as an agent to remove grease and also dirt from the stove. Also, it helps to polish surfaces and eliminate unpleasant odors.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of apple cider vinegar (500 ml).
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml).

Preparation

  • Dilute the apple cider vinegar in a cup of water.
  • Heat the mixture for a minute in the microwave.

How to use

  • When it reaches a suitable temperature that does not cause burns, dip a sponge in the liquid and then rub it on the stove.
  • Repeat the procedure until the surface is degreased.

3. White vinegar

We cannot fail to mention white vinegar as an ally for home cleaning. In addition to being an excellent disinfectant, its acidic compounds give it properties that eliminate traces of fat and food.

It’s great for removing burnt grease that builds up on range grates, leaving them looking shiny and clean.

Ingredients

  • One cup of white vinegar (250 ml).
  • ½ cup of water (125 ml).

Preparation

  • Dilute the white vinegar in half a cup of warm water and pack it into a spray bottle.

How to use

  • First, spray the liquid on the surface of the stove and rub it off with a sponge or cloth.
  • If the fat is too sticky, use undiluted vinegar.

4. White vinegar and lemon

If the previous solutions were not enough to remove all the grease and dirt, it is advisable to combine vinegar with lemon to obtain a more potent formula.

The union of these ingredients penetrates the residues that accumulate on the stove, softening them to be easily removed.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of white vinegar (250 ml).
  • The juice of 2 lemons.

Preparation

  • First, pour the white vinegar into a spray bottle and mix it with the lemon juice.
  • Then, shake the bottle so that the ingredients are well integrated and proceed to use it.

How to use

  • First, spray the cleaner on the stove and let it work for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • After this time, rub it with a sponge or microfiber cloth.
  • Repeat the procedure until you get the desired results.

5. Baking soda to clean your stove

The sodium bicarbonate is a product that has an abrasive effect that allows off the fat is retained in the stove. Its direct application softens the adhered residues and leaves the surface clean.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of baking soda (27 g).
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon oil (5 g).

Preparation

  • Combine the baking soda with the lemon oil until you get a paste.

How to use

  • First, spray the product on the surface of the stove that you want to clean and scrub it with a brush or sponge.
  • Wait 5 more minutes for it to work and remove the residue with a damp cloth.
  • Do the cleaning at least twice a week.
