How to Clean Wine Glasses?

June 30, 2020 By Miranda Jackson Leave a Comment

Wine glasses stain easily, and it is difficult to wash them perfectly since stains of soap residue are easily left there. It is always inconvenient to offer a poorly cleaned cup of wine to guests. We are preferably looking for a sparkling and clean wine glass. We offer some tips for cleaning wine glasses efficiently.

How to Clean Wine Glasses?

1. Wash the wine glasses with soap and water

Wash your wine glasses by hand, using water and a little gel soap. It is the only method to remove all unwanted traces from your wine glasses manually. Be careful; however, when you wash the inside of a wine glass to break the glass or the crystal, it is very fragile.

2. Dry in the open air

Do not wipe your wine glasses to dry them after cleaning is finished. Instead, place them upside down on a cloth and wait for them to dry on their own. You can use a knife to place below the cup to allow air to enter and prevent condensation in the wine glass during drying.

3. Polish your wine glasses well

Once the wine glasses have dried well, you can polish them. To do this, use a cloth or some fabric that will not leave lint. Hold the cup with one hand and rub the glass or crystal with the other to make it shiny and shiny.

4. Give the glasses more shine

For even more sparkling wine glasses, you can place them over a pot of boiling water. The steam will make your wine glasses shine more. Be careful, however, not to overheat your crystal glasses so as not to burst them, especially if the crystal is already very fragile.

5. Wine glass in the dishwasher

If you want to wash your wine glasses in the dishwasher, but only wine glasses and no other dishes at the same time. Also, choose a gel soap rather than a powder and wash it all with lukewarm water, if possible. Remember to set the drying temperature high to ensure that your wine glasses come out of the sparkling and dry dishwashers.

6. Wash crystal glasses

If your wine glasses are crystal, use caustic soda. This solution will clean your glasses while eliminating the traces of wine on the crystal. It is an advantageous product for cleaning and shining crystal glasses and others.

7. Wait before washing the wine glasses

Indeed, it is better to rinse them and leave them on the counter. You can wash them the next day without a problem. Go back and enjoy your guests or your wife or husband. Can the dishes wait another few hours, right? The important thing is to rinse to remove the bulk of red wine or other drinks from your glass.

8. Have a proper water temperature

When washing wine glasses and goblets, wash them with hot water, and avoid rinsing them with cold water afterward. These temperature differences could damage or even break your glass or crystal cups.

9. Do not put the crystal in the dishwasher

You can wash your wine glasses in the dishwasher, but it’s best to avoid doing it for crystal glasses. As the crystal is fragile, it could break during the washing cycle in the dishwasher, so be careful.

10. Avoid long soaking

Do not allow your crystal wine glasses to soak in your wash water for too long. They will then become blurred as if it lacked shine. For crystal glasses, it is better to wash them immediately or rinse them to wipe them later.
