Difficult to remove a stain of gasoline and even more its odor!
When we fill up with gas in our car and are in a hurry or just distracted, it is entirely normal to drop a few drops of gasoline on our clothes.
Unfortunately, not only will they be stained, but they will also be permeated with the smell of gasoline. To remedy this, here are some tips against a gasoline stain and its odor.
1. Ammonia and gasoline stain
Moisten a clean cloth and pour a few drops of ammonia on it. Then dab the gasoline stain in question.
2. Soda crystals
Mix water and soda crystals until you get a paste. Apply the paste on the stain, rub, and rinse. The gasoline stain will have disappeared entirely with this trick.
3. Marseille soap
Rub the gasoline stain with a little Marseille soap and a few drops of water. Wait 60 minutes and machine wash.
4. Stain of the essence and lemon juice
Pour lemon juice on a cloth and rub the gasoline stain. Then rinse. Ideal for quickly removing the stain and removing most of the smell of gasoline.
If the gasoline stain is very persistent, pour a little talcum powder and place a few sheets of absorbent paper on it. Use a hot iron, and the leaves will absorb the essence.
6. Soap of a garage owner
Garage owners have special soap to remove oil stains from their hands, among other things. Pour a little of this soap on a small soft brush and rub the stain with gasoline.
7. White Spirit
White Spirit is excellent for removing petrol stains.
8. Vinegar water and gasoline smell
To remove remaining odors from gasoline on your clothes, simply soak them in a little vinegar water.
9. Baking soda
For best odor control results, you can also sprinkle baking soda over the stain and leave it on all day.
10. Avoid washing machines
Never put a garment soiled in petrol directly in the washing machine without having first washed it.
