How to Get Rid Of Tomato Stains?

August 17, 2020 By Miranda Jackson Leave a Comment

Staining your clothes with a tomato stain is hardly fun. We are automatically afraid that the stain will stay there forever. We even think we have ruined our clothing.

Rest assured, there are solutions for this type of stubborn stain that are tomatoes and tomato juice. Curiosity Insight, therefore, presents some useful tips for quickly removing a tomato stain.

1. Put some dishwasher detergent on the stain

This trick is also handy. Put a little dishwasher detergent directly on the tomato stain to be treated and put it in the washing machine as is. If you see that the stain has not been completely removed, repeat the same steps. Instead of a dishwasher, you can also add some grease remover that you have at home. Of course, make sure it is suitable for clothes, you will not want another disaster.

2. Use rust inhibitor

If tomato stains persist on your clothes, use rust remover. Rub well and rinse well afterward to avoid damaging the fabric.

3. Use milk for a tomato stain

Blot the tomato stain with a cloth soaked in milk. Rinse well afterward, and as if by magic, the tomato stain will be gone!

4. Use rubbing alcohol

Dab the tomato stain with a cloth soaked in methylated spirits slightly diluted with water. Rinse and repeat as needed if the stain is stubborn.

5. Boiling water and hand soap

Can the garment that has become tomato stained be washed in boiling water? If so, try this, if not, go to the next trick. Prepare a basin with boiling water (be careful not to burn yourself), the next thing you have to do is spread a little of the soap you use to wash your hands on the tomato stain. Dip in the basin and let it act until you see that the water has cooled. Then wash by hand or in the washing machine.

6. Use baking soda paste, water, and salt

Make a paste of baking soda, a little water, and a pinch of salt. Then spread the paste directly on the tomato stain. Let it act for a few minutes, remove with a little paper, and wash in the washing machine with the rest of the laundry. Works!

7. Use sparkling water

Pour a little sparkling water on the tomato stain and absorb everything with paper towels. Then wash your garment in the machine. This is a great tip for removing a tomato stain quickly.

8. Use vinegar and water mixture

If you see that the tomato stain is neither very deep nor very extensive, nor that it is on a garment that is not immaculate white, try this remedy, and you will see that it works well. Put warm water in a basin and add a generous stream of vinegar, submerge the garment, and leave it there for at least a couple of hours. Afterward, rinse with water and wash in the washing machine according to the program that the clothes need. There will be no trace of the tomato stain.

9. Drying and fresh air for a fresh stain

A stain of fresh tomato to wash away? Let the tomato stain dry when fresh. Then soak the stained garment in cold water and let it dry in the sun. The tomato stain should disappear quickly with this trick.

10. Use bleach and hydrogen peroxide for tomato stains on white clothes

Can I use bleach if the stain is on white clothes? Yes, but do not abuse this remedy, or in the long run, yellowish spots will appear on your clothes. You can also dip tomato-stained white clothes in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water. Let it act for a few minutes and finish washing in the washing machine, as we have explained in the previous tips. This trick is handy for tough tomato stains on white clothing.

And you? What is the trick that works best for you to remove tomato stains from clothes?
