Simple electrified fence equipment can be costly. However, they can also be instrumental in keeping the wildlife away and out of your garden. Instead of paying high prices for one of these equipment, make your own electrified fence using some simple tools and a self-charged battery.
You will need to
- A hole digger for poles
- Poles, at least once per three feet (1 m)
- Thick gauge wire
- A massive duty electricity switch
- Standard electrical cables
- A welding
- Copper welding
Instructions
Place the posts on the floor as you wish, using a special hole digger. Make sure everyone is right and as close as possible.
Place thick gauge wire along the fence line, tying it to each post. Be sure to place the wire at a minimum of two heights along the fence line.
Connect the thick gauge wire from the fence to a small piece of standard electrical wiring. Do it at the end of the fence line, where you want to place the battery.
With a welder, weld the wire to one side of a heavy-duty electrical switch. Make sure that the switch you choose is waterproof. Then solder another piece of wire to the other side of the switch.
Make sure that the switch is in the “Off” position, then connect the cable to the poles of a car battery. Please do this by directly tying the cable around the posts and twisting it to tighten it.
To activate the fence, turn the switch to the on position. All the wires along the fence will be charged with electricity.
Cover and wrap the battery with a tarp to prevent corrosion from ruining the connections due to rain and wind.
