How to Make Disinfecting Wipes?

June 10, 2020 By Miranda Jackson Leave a Comment

More and more of us are paying attention to our environment and the objects around us. So why not make your homemade cleaning wipes?

Curiosity Insight presents today two recipes for cleaning wipes super easy to make at home with a few ingredients.

What fabric should I use to make cleaning wipes?

Before talking about the ingredients of the recipe, it is, of course, necessary to find and prepare the wipes. But here, what to use or rather which fabric to use?

You can collect and use different fabrics, such as:

  • old t-shirts
  • old bedsheets or pillowcases
  • old towels, etc.

It is essential to clean the pieces of fabric in the washing machine before recovering them and transforming them into a cleaning cloth for the house.

1. Cleaning wipes based on white vinegar and essential oil

Here is a first recipe for cleaning wipes to clean and deodorize the house. You need to:

  • Six tablespoons of white vinegar
  • Two tablespoons of black soap
  • Ten drops of lemon essential oil
  • Ten drops of eucalyptus essential oil
  • 1 cup of boiled water

Pour and mix all liquids in an airtight container and add the wipes you just made. Stir and let stand to soak the pieces of fabric with the cleaning solution thoroughly.

Once well impregnated with the liquid, remove the pieces of tissue and place them in a plastic container with an airtight lid.

The essential ingredient in this recipe is white vinegar, which acts as a powerful disinfectant and anti-limescale.

2. Cleaning wipes with paper towels

Even more straightforward and quicker to do, why not just use paper towels to make your cleaning wipes? You need to:

  • 1 cup of hot water
  • Six tablespoons of vinegar
  • One tablespoon liquid dish soap

Pour and mix all the ingredients in a plastic container and soak the paper towels in the mixture. The cleaning wipes will keep for several days in an airtight container.

You can add ten drops of lavender essential oil to camouflage the smell of vinegar in this recipe.
