Felt is essential for writing, but it is a real ordeal for fabrics, including those of our clothes! A spot of felt can be done without warning, but what about making it go away?
And rest assured, there are at least some small solutions that can be used to overcome it. Here are some tips for removing a felt stain.
1. Use bleach on a white cloth
If it is, for example, a white cotton garment, simply soak it in a little water added with bleach before washing it in the machine. The felt stain would have disappeared entirely in the end.
2. Remove a stain of felt with 90-degree alcohol
If it is a colored fabric, dab the felt stain with a little water and soap. Once the larger is removed, dab again, but this time with a cloth dampened with 90-degree alcohol.
3. Use lemon juice
Clean your felt stain with a cloth soaked in lemon juice. Rinse and then wash to remove the stain altogether.
4. Milk to remove a stain of felt
Soak a cloth in milk and rub your felt stain gently. Rinse and machine wash to finish cleaning the garment.
5. Use water and vinegar
If a stain of felt stains, a synthetic product, rub it with a little vinegar water and voila.
6. The stain of felt? Use hair spray
Felt stained your beautiful leather couch? No problem! Spray a bit of hair spray on the stain and wipe with a dry cloth as soon as the stain is diluted. Then repeat until the stain is completely gone. Then feed your leather with a baby cleansing milk.
7. Use acetone on varnished wood
To remove a stain of felt left on varnished wood, pass a cloth soaked in acetone. This will remove the varnish, so you will, of course, have to refinish it. To do in case of extreme necessity only!
8. Lighter fluid for felt stains on the fridge
Did your children draw on the fridge with felt pencils? So rub these spots with a cloth soaked in lighter fluid! Then wash with soap and water, rinse and dry!
9. Use a lemon
To remove a felt stain from natural wood, simply run half a lemon over the stain and then rinse.
10. Use soap and water
To remove a felt stain from clothing, first, try it with soap and water. If that doesn’t work, there you can try the other tips above.
