How to Remove Limescale From Everywhere?

August 10, 2020 By Miranda Jackson Leave a Comment

How to dissolve limestone? Lime is a substance that can make many objects or materials in the house dirty. It’s never satisfying to see your things soiled with lime residue.

Fortunately, there are some homemade tips and exceptional products that can help you remove those unwanted lime stains. We, therefore, present you with the best tips and tricks for eliminating limescale at home.

1. Buy an anti-limescale product

Before moving on to the natural tips and tricks for removing limescale, we present below an advantageous product for cleaning limescale in the bathroom and the kitchen.

It is a great and handy anti-lime product in removing all lime stains in the house. This lime cleanser can be used on the following surfaces:

  • to clean the taps
  • to remove limescale from sinks
  • to make the bathtub shine
  • for removing stains from ceramic and tile
  • to make the glass shower door shine, etc.

You can, of course, use the vinegar trick that we explain a little below, but if the lime stain is too stubborn, then a commercial anti-limescale product can help you.

2. Remove limescale with white vinegar

A 100% natural homemade recipe for lime removal is to use white vinegar. Here is what you need to do to succeed with this trick:

  • Mix the white vinegar with a little lukewarm water.
  • Soak a scouring sponge or brush with this mixture.
  • Rub off lime stains and other residues.

If the lime is difficult to dissolve, then you can soak the object in question directly in this mixture for several minutes. Then repeat the above steps to finish cleaning the lime stains.

3. Lime in the dishwasher?

Do you notice the presence of whitish stains on dishes and glassware when you empty the dishwasher at home? If so, it is probably the result of too hard water, too hard water.

So instead of washing your wine cups and glass dishes a second time to remove lime stains, why not use a product designed for this lime problem? It is possible to place anti-lime balls in the dishwasher to avoid seeing lime stains appear on dishes and utensils.

Don’t you have a dishwasher? To be sure there is no lime residue on your glasses, here’s how:

  • Get in the habit of rinsing them in hot water, then in cold water and letting them air dry.

This way of working effectively prevents lime stains on the dishes.

4. Clean lime stains from the tiles

In addition to being able to use the anti-lime cleaning product above to clean the tiles, you can also use a very effective grandmother’s recipe. To do this, you need:

  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar.
  • 4 tablespoons of baking soda.
  • Mix the two ingredients to form a paste.
  • Spread the vinegar and baking soda mixture over the tile.
  • Leave on for several minutes to thoroughly clean the limestone.

All that remains is to remove the residue of the mixture and the limestone to make the bathroom tiles shine as if it were new!

5. Remove lime from a saucepan

If your water is very hard at home, you may see lime stains appear in your pots and other kitchen accessories. Lime stains may appear over time inside the pans.

So to remove the lime that remains visible inside a saucepan, just:

  • Fill the saucepan to be cleaned with water.
  • Add potato peels to the water.
  • Boil for 5-10 minutes.

After a few minutes, there will be no trace of lime in your pots and pans. A simple, quick, and effective anti-limescale trick!

6. Remove limescale in the coffee machine

If your water is hard, it is all the more essential to descale your coffee machine as well as your kettle. If your coffee machine only needs a little descaling, then this solution is ideal:

  • Fill the coffee machine with water and vinegar (half and a half)
  • Switch on the coffee machine
  • Repeat if the coffee machine needs a good cleaning.

You can also use this mixture of water and vinegar to descale and clean the inside of an electric kettle. On an excellent descaling, leave to act overnight and rinse. Lime and another stubborn residue will be gone.

7. Dissolve the lime with a lemon

How to dissolve limestone? Very simple, just use the lemon to quickly remove the encrusted lime on tap, on a tile, or a glass door in the shower.

So if you have lime in the shower here is how to remove it:

  • Cut a lemon in half.
  • You can also use lemon juice.
  • Rub the lemon wedge on the limestone stained surfaces.
  • Rinse with soapy water to remove all traces of lime and lemon.

For more efficiency, you can add table salt to lemon juice to remove lime stains.

This easy-to-use product considerably reduces the scale present in your water thanks to its magnetic side. You will be surprised by this product which will help you find much softer water and above all much less difficult.

  • Pour little methylated spirits on a dry cloth and rub the stainless steel.

  • Rinse and dry with a soft cloth to make the stainless steel shine.

10. How do you remove lime from a window?

Claystone is an excellent natural product that can be used to clean almost everything in the house, including lime stains on the windows.

A soft cloth, hot water, and a little silver stone are sufficient to clean the limescale from the shower panes and even from the tiles.

11. A water softener against limescale!

Of course, if you know that your water is very hard at home and will remain so no matter what trick or what product you use, then there are not a thousand solutions for you!

The water softener is undoubtedly the fastest and most efficient solution to treating your water and thus completely removing limescale.
