9. Baking powder and detergent
To remove a mascara stain, rub it all with a little baking powder, laundry detergent, and water.
Recipes to avoid:
The use of bleach is not recommended. This product is aggressive and ineffective on makeup stains. Bleach can permanently discolor colored fabrics.
Ammonia is also to be avoided on certain fabrics because this product can damage the fibers.
It is often advisable to dab a mascara stain with white vinegar or lemon juice due to these products’ acidic nature. In reality, this trick rarely works. Black or colored pigments, especially waterproof mascaras, are stubborn and require more in-depth treatment.
Some blogs recommend using an iron with talc to activate the absorption of makeup stains, especially oily stains. It rarely works. However, this trick can permanently encrust the stain on certain fabrics because of the heat supply.
