How to Remove Strawberry Stains from Clothes?

July 3, 2020 By Miranda Jackson Leave a Comment

Although tasty and refreshing, strawberries can also stain clothing and even your beautiful fabric sofa. Unfortunately, the fruit stains are sometimes stubborn and challenging to remove.

Some tips present all the best cleaning tips and tricks to remove a stain of strawberry and other red fruits. Good cleaning!

1. Remove a stain of red fruit with bleach

Bleach is a simple, quick, and effective trick to eliminate the most stubborn stains, including red fruit stains.

Of course, you guessed it; this tip is useful in white clothes and, better still, white cotton clothes.

So if the fabric is white, you can easily use bleach to clean the stain of strawberry and other red fruit. Here’s how to do it:

  • Dilute a tablespoon of bleach to a cup of water.
  • Soak the fruit stain and leave to act for a few seconds.
  • Rub with a cloth to remove the stain.
  • Rinse with cold water and send it to the washing machine to finish.

But beware, bleach can damage some textiles and clothing, so be careful when using bleach.

2. Quickly clean the stain with lemon juice

No matter what type of stain, the most important thing is to act to clean everything quickly! This is all the more important on a garment because the fruit stain can soon become embedded in the fabric and become difficult to remove.

  • Soak the fruit stain with lemon juice and rub gently.
  • Remove the stain as much as possible and finish with a washing machine cleaning.

You can also rub the stain with half a lemon. It works as well as lemon juice.

3. Remove the red fruit stain with vinegar

Vinegar is also an effective natural product for cleaning red fruit stains and many other stains on clothing and textiles.

As with lemon juice, here’s how to use it as a natural stain remover:

  • Soak the fruit stain entirely with white vinegar.
  • Rub with a cloth and leave to act for a few minutes.
  • Rub again, rinse with water, and finish in the washing machine.

4. Remove a stain of strawberry, and other red fruits stain from wool?

As wool is a fragile material, it is better to be careful not to damage the garment. So the best thing to do to loosen the wool is to use soapy water.

  • Rinse the woolen garment with cold water to dislodge the strawberry and other red fruits stain as much as possible.
  • Then rub the stain with soapy water (water + liquid soap).
  • Rinse again to finish and repeat as needed.

5. Remove strawberry stain with milk

Another great grandmother’s tip for removing a small red fruit stain is to use milk!

And yes, milk is an entirely natural solution to remove a stain of red fruit: raspberry, strawberry, or cherry stain.

  • Pour milk to soak the stain and its outline thoroughly.
  • Leave to act for 1 to 2 hours and rub with a cloth soaked in milk.
  • Rinse with cold water and go to the washing machine to finish.

You can immerse the garment directly in hot milk for a white cotton garment stained with raspberry or strawberry.

6. A mixture of alcohol and water against stains!

Do you want to test another homemade recipe to clean a strawberry stain or a smudge of red wine on a garment or tablecloth?

Very simple, here is how to do it:

  • Mix water with 70 ° alcohol in equal parts.
  • Rub the stain with this solution and rinse with cold water.
  • Repeat as necessary if the stain is not thoroughly cleaned.

Be careful not to use this trick on synthetic and artificial fibers.

7. Color the stain of strawberry quickly

Have you tried everything, but unfortunately, there is still a visible stain on the garment or the tablecloth?

So for a stain of fruit that refuses to leave, you can try to discolor it. To do so:

  • Use 10-volume hydrogen peroxide and gently rub the stain.
  • Immediately rinse the garment and finish with washing machine cleaning.
