How to Straighten Your Hair at Home?

October 28, 2020 By Miranda Jackson Leave a Comment

Straight hair gives an elegant appearance, besides being practical, especially for winter. The problem is, many of the tools used, such as hair straighteners and chemicals, are really bad for your hair. Over time they dry it out, have split ends. You end up with straight hair that is not as beautiful as it used to be.

Fortunately, there are other ways to straighten curly hair without using heat or chemicals. You won’t get the iron’s straight look, but you will have healthier, more or less straight hair with volume. Here are some tips for straightening hair naturally.

Tips for straightening your hair easily

Brush your hair to straighten it

After shampooing and applying the right treatment to your hair, brush your hair at 5-minute intervals while it is still damp.

Hold each strand of hair with the brush for a few seconds to gently straighten it. Repeat until your hair is dehydrated.

Straighten your hair naturally with coconut oil

In addition to giving your hair strength and shine, coconut oil will have a soothing effect. Here’s how to use coconut oil on her hair:

  • Apply coconut oil to the entire length of your hair
  • Then wrap your hair in a towel.
  • Leave on for 45 to 60 minutes, then shampoo to finish.

Coconut oil is a great way to straighten the hair and give it a beautiful shine naturally.

A natural straightening with coconut milk

Here is a homemade recipe for a natural coconut milk relaxer:

  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • The juice of a lemon
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch

Dissolve the cornstarch completely in the lemon juice. Combine all the ingredients in a pot, constantly stirring, heat over medium heat until a fairly thick creamy consistency is obtained. Let cool just enough not to burn yourself, and apply the hair straightening mask all over your hair. Cover your hair with a bathing cap and a warm towel. Leave on for one to two hours before shampooing.

A homemade recipe for straightening hair

Here is an all-natural homemade recipe to help you straighten your hair naturally:

  • 1 cup of honey
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil

Mix well and simmer the honey, olive oil, milk, and coconut oil in a small pot until the mixture has thickened. Let cool just enough so you don’t get burned, and apply all over your hair. Cover your hair with a bathing cap and leave on for 3 hours. Finally, shampoo and rinse well.

Natural straightening for frizzy hair

To proceed to a natural straightening on frizzy hair, you can do an almond oil treatment. To do this, slightly warm enough almond oil to coat all of your hair. Apply the oil to the entire length of your hair and cover it with a towel. Leave on for 20 minutes, then comb your hair. Cover them again with the towel, and leave to act for 30 minutes. Finally, remove the towel and comb your hair gently.

Homemade mask to straighten hair

To straighten your hair while strengthening it and giving it shine, try this egg-based mask:

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil

Beat the eggs well as needed. Then add the oil and mix. Apply the mask to your hair, from roots to ends. Comb your hair carefully with a wide-tooth comb. Cover your hair with a bathing cap, and leave on for 45 minutes. Then wash your hair and rinse thoroughly.

How to straighten hair with Aloe Vera?

This plant contains several types of enzymes that promote hair regrowth while making it smoother and softer. To use this herb as a relaxer, add a little heated olive oil to half a cup of aloe gel. Apply the mask to your hair, cover it with a swimming cap, and leave on for 2 hours. Rinse well and shampoo.

Hair straightening mask recipe

This grandmother’s recipe for straightening hair requires only a few ingredients that will be found in our pantry:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil

Mix the ingredients well, and apply all over your hair. Cover your hair with a bathing cap and leave on for 20 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly and shampoo.

How to straighten your hair with rollers?

Straighten your hair with rollers? Yes! Using substantial rollers. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo, and give it a treatment adapted to its type. Then, working with 5-centimeter strands, lay the rollers at the strand’s base and wrap the tip-up. Secure the roller about 2 centimeters from the skull. Let it dry completely. Otherwise, the slightest humidity will cause your hair to curl. Remove the rollers, and style your hair.

Straighten your hair with a Cardone

The Cardone is a ribbon that wraps the hair and is the perfect solution for straightening hair naturally. Cardone originates from Algeria, but it is also used in other countries of the Maghreb. Here’s how to achieve this technique, which can also be done using a nylon stocking or tights:

  • Start by combing your hair well, making sure it is completely detangled.
  • Tie your hair into a low ponytail, but not too tight.
  • Starting at the base, wrap the Cardone to the ends, strong but not too tight, as this will leave a mark.
  • Once you have wrapped your ponytail, tie a knot by joining the ends. You can also use a rubber band. Keep the Cardone on all night.
